Workshopping and Our First Presentation

After gathering all our research, it was time to roll up our sleeves and start workshopping our ideas. This phase was all about collaboration and creativity, and it certainly kept us on our toes!

Drawing from techniques highlighted in the Interaction Design Foundation’s article on brainstorming (What is Brainstorming? 10 Effective Techniques You Can Use 2016), we fostered an open and inclusive environment where every idea could be explored. These methods helped spark creativity and ensure that no valuable insights were overlooked.

To put these brainstorming techniques into practice, we had multiple Zoom meetings and in person work sessions to refine our concepts. These meetups were crucial for keeping everyone on the same page and making sure we were moving in the right direction.

One particularly productive day was the concession day when there weren’t any classes. We took full advantage of this free time to get together as a team and work intensively on preparing our first presentation. Having that uninterrupted time allowed us to focus and make significant progress.

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. One of our team members faced a personal challenge during this period. As a team, we rallied behind them, offering support and sharing the workload to ensure we stayed on track. This experience brought us closer together and highlighted the importance of solidarity and understanding within a team.

Through all these efforts, we managed to finalise everything up to the prototype phase of the design thinking stage. Our hard work culminated in our first presentation, where we showcased our initial ideas and plans. It was an exciting milestone that marked the transition from planning to tangible action.
