Selecting a group for our project was an essential first step, and it really set us up for success. In the tutorial, we had the chance to chat with our classmates and ask some key questions to find the best fit for our team. It was all about making sure everyone had the same goals and commitment levels. I was on the lookout for people aiming for distinctions or higher, to make sure we all wanted to do our best.
Getting to know each other early on helped us understand each other’s strengths, work ethics, and ambitions. This was important for building a solid team and tackling the challenge of working together effectively in a limited time. I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to get to know others before forming our groups – something that’s often missing in other courses and made a huge difference here.
Once we had our team, I stepped up as the team manager. My first job was to set up clear and effective communication channels. We created a FB Messenger group chat for quick and easy messages, making sure everyone could stay in the loop. To keep track of our tasks and deadlines, I suggested using ClickUp, a project management tool that would help us stay organised.
Together, we planned out our actions for the project, assigning tasks based on everyone’s strengths and setting reasonable timelines. Getting organised early was key to keeping up the momentum and making sure everyone knew what they needed to do. By fostering an environment of open communication and strategic planning, we set ourselves up for a successful collaboration.
